Maximize event quality and attendance Assess current events to identify pros, cons, and improvement opportunities
  • Create all alumni survey in tandem with long-range plan to obtain feedback on alumni experience
  • Craft and deploy a survey to past Off-the-Close (OTC), Reunion, Homecoming, and Alumni Dinner attendees
Experiment with new event formats to bolster participation
  • Launch new event annually to determine interest in alternative alumni gatherings
Engage with more alumni beyond the DC area Establish new (non-fundraising) events in three cities/regions with dense Alumni concentrations
  • N.Y.C. OTC 2.0 – Fall 2017 (establish NYC OTC as an annual event)
  • San Francisco OTC – Spring 2018 (rotate among cities with appropriate alumni density)
Investigate the viability of local STA Alumni Board members or committees outside D.C.
  • Use N.Y.C. and other city OTC’s as a launch pad for standing alumni volunteer committees outside D.C.
Keep alumni better informed and engaged with STA Maximize existing communication channels to increase alumni awareness and event recruiting
  • Revamp alumni homepage on school’s website to be more event centric and photo/graphic
Use new communication platforms to gain greater distribution channels for content
  • Launch @STAalumni Twitter account for alumni-centric news and information blasts
Help alumni advance their careers Create and support alumni career development resources
  • Host summer networking event for college-aged alumni (building toward winter break job fair)
  • Help identify and launch online networking platform to facilitate alumni-to-alumni professional connections based on interest area, region, experience, etc.
