School Hymn

The St. Albans hymn, “Men of the Future, Stand,” is adopted from “Diademata,” an 1868 composition by George J. Elvey. Edith Gray Church, wife of the school’s second headmaster, is believed to have penned the lyrics to accompany the composition.

The St. Albans School Hymn

After the last diploma was handed out at Commencement, members of the Class of 2018 joined together to sing Men of the Future, Stand in a moving tribute to St. Albans School.

Located in Washington D.C.,  St. Albans School is a private, all boys day and boarding school. For more than a century, St. Albans has offered a distinctive educational experience for young men in grades 4 through 12. While our students reach exceptional academic goals and exhibit first-rate athletic and artistic achievements, as an Episcopal school we place equal emphasis upon moral and spiritual education.
