Parent & Guardian Commitments & Initiatives

In collaboration with the STA Diversity Committees and the Parents’ Association’s Education Committee, STA hosted parent discussions on books covering issues on diversity, equity, and inclusion, including Disability Visibility: First-Person Stories from the Twenty-First Century by Alice Wong, Whistling Vivaldi: How Stereotypes Affect Us and What We Can Do by Claude Steele, and Biased: Uncovering the Hidden Prejudice That Shapes What We See, Think, and Do by Jennifer Eberhardt. STA is coordinating with NCS to host a parent/guardian Fireside Chat with Helen Zia on her book, Asian American Dreams: The Emergence of an American People, this spring.

In addition to these book discussions, we have spent time engaged in dialogue and listening sessions with parents and guardians. We will continue these conversations and outreach to build upon these valuable members of our community.

Located in Washington D.C.,  St. Albans School is a private, all boys day and boarding school. For more than a century, St. Albans has offered a distinctive educational experience for young men in grades 4 through 12. While our students reach exceptional academic goals and exhibit first-rate athletic and artistic achievements, as an Episcopal school we place equal emphasis upon moral and spiritual education.
