Nate Johnson '16 Named D.C.'s Gatorade Player of the Year

Midfielder Nate Johnson ’16 was recently named Gatorade’s Boy Soccer Player of the Year for the District of Columbia. The award, which recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field, distinguishes Johnson as D.C.’s best high school boys soccer player and makes him a finalist for the national recognition of Boys Player of the Year in May.

Johnson helped lead the Bulldogs to a 15-3-1 record and the championship of both the Independent Athletic Conference (IAC) Tournament and the District of Columbia Schools Athletic Association (DCSAA) Tournament. Johnson scored nine goals and passed for eight assists on the season. The 2015 IAC Player of the Year and a three-time All-Conference selection, he was a 2015 Washington Post First Team All-Met honoree.

Congratulations, Nate!
