Thank you, Mr. Bishop

Congratulations to Mr. Mark Bishop on his retirement! Mr. Bishop began teaching at St. Albans in 1990 and in his tenure accumulated 25 years of service (with a hiatus at the Westminster School in Connecticut). 

In Trapier Theater, he has served as director, technical director, scene, sound and light designer, box office coordinator, and chair of our coordinate Theater Department. In the classroom and the workshop, he has taught stagecraft, design for theater, acting, directing, public speaking, and woodworking. Mr. Bishop helped our community celebrate the 25th and 50th anniversary of our theater, and the 100th and 200th school productions. He has worked on 130 shows during his tenure, taught every middle schooler at STA and NCS, and advised countless Upper Schoolers. He has taught in the School of Public Service, served as assembly coordinator, assisted with the renovation of Trapier Theater, advised the Albanian and the Drama Club, and chartered a troupe in the International Thespian Society. 

Mr. Bishop received his bachelor’s degree in theater and dance from Trinity College and his master’s in liberal studies, with a focus on the humanities and theater, from Wesleyan University.
