Strategic Plan

- From the 2013 Strategic Plan

“We must be prepared to adapt to the needs of our students and the demands of the world in which they will live.”
As we look forward, we seek to stay true to our mission: to educate and prepare young men to be become leaders of the future. While much of what we do is time-tested, we must be prepared to adapt to the needs of our students and the demands of the world in which they will live. There is always more that we can – and that we must – do.

The 2013 Strategic Plan, the result of fifteen months’ work by eighty members of our community, will provide direction for St. Albans for years to come. Governing Board members Jun Makihara ’75, a retired investment banker and former school parent, and Dick Hall, former head of Washington International School, together led the Strategic Planning Committee. They aimed to create a plan that would be creative and would invigorate all school constituencies while advancing St. Albans’ traditional mission. The 2013 Strategic Plan balances recommendations for what will change with an affirmation of what will remain the same. The plan celebrates all that is good about St. Albans while guiding the school forward.
Located in Washington D.C.,  St. Albans School is a private, all boys day and boarding school. For more than a century, St. Albans has offered a distinctive educational experience for young men in grades 4 through 12. While our students reach exceptional academic goals and exhibit first-rate athletic and artistic achievements, as an Episcopal school we place equal emphasis upon moral and spiritual education.
