Festival of Lessons & Carols

Please enjoy the Chorale performances and virtual collaborations!

NCS and St. Albans present our annual Festival of Lessons & Carols virtually on Thursday, December 17, at 6:30 pm. This shared service, which has taken place in the Cathedral for more than 75 years, features readings, prayers, and artistic offerings by student singers, instrumentalists, and dancers from all divisions at both schools. This year’s service will include new virtual collaborations, as well as archival footage from past Lessons & Carols services. Families will also have the opportunity to sing along with familiar carols. We are honored to include the bishop of Washington and the dean of the Cathedral among the students, faculty, staff, and administrators from the schools who will offer readings and prayers. Plan to share this beloved service with your families at home.

Each year, the NCS-STA annual Service of Lessons and Carols provides an opportunity to share our generosity in the form of a financial donation to our partner school, St Paul’s School in Caracol, Haiti. This annual offering is directed towards the school’s hot lunch program, providing a welcomed hot meal to children in their community. Please be as generous as you are able.
Located in Washington D.C.,  St. Albans School is a private, all boys day and boarding school. For more than a century, St. Albans has offered a distinctive educational experience for young men in grades 4 through 12. While our students reach exceptional academic goals and exhibit first-rate athletic and artistic achievements, as an Episcopal school we place equal emphasis upon moral and spiritual education.
