Update on Headmaster Search
In preparation for the June 2027 departure of Jason Robinson, the St. Albans Governing Board has begun the process of launching a national search for our next headmaster.
We have retained Carney, Sandoe & Associates (CS&A) to assist us with the search. CS&A is an internationally recognized education search and consulting firm with more than 45 years of experience successfully guiding independent schools through searches for exceptional heads of school, senior administrators, and faculty. CS&A’s Todd Bland, Jamie Estes, and President Devereaux McClatchey are serving as our search consultants.
To further guide this work, the Governing Board has assembled a team of deeply committed alumni, faculty, parents, and board members to join us on the Search Committee.
CS&A spent two days on campus in early October meeting with students, faculty, administrators, parents, alumni, trustees, and other members of the broader St. Albans community. We are enormously grateful to everyone who contributed time and thoughtful perspectives to this important process. In addition to hosting meetings on campus, the school has also engaged in a number of other listening sessions with members of our community, including with representatives of the Lower School and several former school leaders. These conversations, as well as the robust responses from our community survey, have provided invaluable guidance in the creation of this Position Description for the opportunity.
