Road Dogs: STA Soccer Stays Unbeaten on the Road with 6-0 Win Over Episcopal

Staff
After leading most of their previous game against Georgetown Prep only to see the Hoyas tie it in the final minutes, the St. Albans soccer team vowed to keep the offensive pressure up for a full 80 minutes and to finish more chances against Episcopal Friday afternoon in Alexandria, VA.  Mission Accomplished.  Rustin Khosravi opened the scoring in the first minute, Wayne Frederick found the net again 10 minutes later and the Bulldogs kept the Maroon bottled up in their defensive end throughout the first half.  When Episcopal broke through for a chance at the 27:00 mark, goalkeeper Spencer Hall was up to the task with a leaping save on a shot from just outside the top of the penalty area.

The start of the second half mirrored the first as the Bulldogs created several dangerous chances at the start.  Khosravi broke through with a header at 44:00 and Niall Fergus followed nine minutes later with a finishing left-footer at the top of the crease.  Fergus scored again just minutes later and sophomore Alexander Boyle finished the scoring for the visitors.  The Bulldogs moved to 2-0-2 in the IAC, 6-2-3 overall and 3-0-3 on the road.  Friday’s win sets up a showdown with first place Landon Tuesday at 4:30pm on Steuart Field.
