About the IAC
St. Albans belongs to the Interstate Athletic Conference (IAC), a conference of schools in the greater Washington Metropolitan Area that seeks to provide training not only in athletics but also in character. The twelve sports of the league are cross-country, football, soccer, basketball, ice hockey, swimming and diving, wrestling, baseball, golf, lacrosse, tennis, and track and field. The IAC consists of St. Albans, Bullis, Episcopal High School, Georgetown Prep, Landon, and St. Stephen's & St. Agnes.
Founded in 1938, the IAC, originally known as the Academic Athletic Association, later became the Interstate Academic Conference and eventually the Interstate Athletic Conference.
