Eighteen members of the Class of 2026 were inducted into the Cum Laude Society at a service held in the Little Sanctuary on Thursday, May 7, 2026. The Cum Laude Society recognizes academic rigor, as well as the values of excellence, justice, and honor.
Current parent and alumnus Koshy Mathai ’90 delivered the induction address to the Upper School. Mathai reminded the seniors: “This is a beginning, not an end. We call this ‘commencement’ season, after all. So throw yourselves into life. Push yourselves to try new things. Don’t be afraid of looking stupid. Try to have the confidence now that I guarantee you’re going to feel when you’re 53 or 54. And remember that whatever labels you acquire along the way, you’re going to have to prove yourselves over and over again. And that’s not a burden, but rather a wonderful opportunity to keep remaking yourselves and to continue toiling upward in the night.”
Please join us in congratulating the newest Cum Laude Society inductees:
