National Merit Honors

Congratulations to the semifinalists and commended students in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program, which recognizes students based on their outstanding performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). The 16,000 semifinalists scored in the top 1% and represent the highest-scoring students from each state and DC. The semifinalists may now continue in the finalist competition for some 6,900 National Merit Scholarships, to be offered in the spring. The commended students scored in the top 2-3% of test-takers nationwide. Please join us in congratulating these St. Albans seniors.

Located in Washington D.C., St. Albans School is a private, all boys day and boarding school. For more than a century, St. Albans has offered a distinctive educational experience for young men in grades 4 through 12. While our students reach exceptional academic goals and exhibit first-rate athletic and artistic achievements, as an Episcopal school we place equal emphasis upon moral and spiritual education.
