Reunion Weekend 2023

By Lanier Frank ’79, Director of Alumni Relations

Reunion Weekend 2023

Reunion Weekend 2023 (for those classes ending in ’3 and ’8) was a huge success thanks to the many loyal alums who made the effort to post!

The 2023 Alumni Association Dinner and Meeting again kicked off the weekend on Thursday; a cocktail reception on Senior Circle segued into the Cafritz Refectory dinner, at which Christian Miles ’72 was named our Gilchrist-Holleman Alumni Service awardee, the late Coach Bob Brown was named an Honorary Alumnus, and Harold Ford ’88 presented as our keynote speaker.

The next day was our 32nd annual Bulldog Golf Outing, back at the Four Streams Club in Beallsville, Md. For the second year, Read Wall ’05, Josh Miller ’04, and Gov Siegel ’04 won the trophy, joined in their foursome this year by Karl Gruss ’04. That Friday evening was Reunion BBQ with NCS, with STA hosting on Senior Circle.

On Saturday, a morning of athletic events (including the second annual Douglas Principato ’87 Tennis Round Robin) was followed by the memorial chapel service; a trivia luncheon in the Cafritz Refectory; a conversation in Trapier Theater with Luke Russert ’04 and English Department Chair Donna Denizé on his book Look for Me There; and a beer tasting and networking event in Sam’s Bar that again included NCS. Thirteen parties around D.C. followed, and the Headmaster or his designees were present at each!

The 84th annual Flower Mart was held in conjunction with all of this, so while parking may have been challenging, the weather cooperated beautifully (for which we are grateful)! Thank you to everyone who joined us to make this a spectacular Reunion Weekend!
