An Evening to Remember: So Kids SOAR Prom

An Evening to Remember: So Kids SOAR Prom

St. Albans School recently hosted 20 young adults with physical and developmental disabilities from So Kids SOAR for a prom in the Cafritz Refectory. Upper School students volunteered, helping with decorations, food, and, of course, dancing, and Jackets Off performed for the crowd. Prom attendees danced and enjoyed an evening together without the normal regimented drills of clinics and routines.

So Kids SOAR provides life-changing programs that empower youth with physical and developmental disabilities to Strive, Own, Achieve, and Realize their potential, or SOAR. The organization allows participants to SOAR through a suite of adaptive programming that includes athletic, recreational, and skill-building activities. The self-confidence and skills gained inspire each child to realize their disability will not prevent them from fulfilling their potential. Enjoy photos from the fun-filled prom!
