Thanksgiving Traditions Abound at STA

Ever wonder what it takes to feed a Thanksgiving meal to the entire St. Albans community?

For this year's feast, the incredible Sodexo team prepared 450 pounds of turkey, 20 pounds of ham, 100 pounds of macaroni and cheese, 150 pounds of mashed potatoes, 20 pounds of green beans, 1,000 dinner rolls, 200 pounds of stuffing, 25 pounds of cranberry sauce, and 80 pumpkin pies.

Students enjoyed a lunch for the ages that featured turkeys carved in the middle of the refectory by Headmaster Jason Robinson and Head of Lower School Fred Chandler.

Following the meal, students gave a standing ovation to the team that prepared the meal.

In the Lower School, students brought in a whopping 6,583 items (including hundreds of dollars of gift cards) for the annual Blue-White food drive — earning a free dress day.

In the Upper School, the traditional wishbone pull between Head Prefect and Headmaster was won yet again by the Head Prefect. The victory earned Upper School students free dress. Enjoy a video recap here.
