Mariachi Los Caciques

Now it’s a fiesta!

Mariachi Los Caciques, a talented mariachi band from Lakeview High School in San Angelo, Texas, traveled to DC and St. Albans School to help us celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. With the help of former band member Anthony Robles ’23 and Lower School student ambassadors, the musicians toured our classrooms, enjoyed lunch in the Cafritz Refectory with Forms I and II, and shared their folk music at the Lower School assembly and Upper School lunch, and taught our students about the history and instruments of mariachi music. Thanks to C, B, & A Music teacher Shirley Taylor Moore and Lakeview teachers Rene Alvarado, former school teacher Mario Castillo, and Mariachi Music director Rosendo Ramos for their help in bringing this fantastic experience to our school. Bravo!  Enjoy photos and a video of their visit.

Located in Washington D.C.,  St. Albans School is a private, all boys day and boarding school. For more than a century, St. Albans has offered a distinctive educational experience for young men in grades 4 through 12. While our students reach exceptional academic goals and exhibit first-rate athletic and artistic achievements, as an Episcopal school we place equal emphasis upon moral and spiritual education.
