The Week Ahead in STA Sports – October 25-30

Cross-Country runs for the IAC championship at the league meet Saturday, October 30th at Agricultural History Farm Park in Derwood, MD with the varsity race scheduled to start at 2:30pm.  The Bulldogs topped 16 other schools Saturday on the same course to win the 2nd Annual Skip Grant Invitational. 
 
Varsity Soccer hosts Episcopal on Steuart Field at 4:00pm Tuesday in their final home game of the regular season.  They complete the regular season at Landon Friday at 4:00pm.  They currently sit in second place in the IAC, 2 points behind Landon, after a thrilling 2OT win over Georgetown Prep Friday.  JV Soccer visits Episcopal Tuesday and hosts Landon Friday.  Both games are at 4:00pm.  JVII Soccer also visits Episcopal Tuesday at 4:00pm and hosts Landon at 4:00pm Thursday.   
 
Varsity Football will recognize its 21 seniors and their parents before their final home game Saturday at 1:30pm on Steuart Field against Georgetown Prep.  The Dogs are 1-1 after losing to St. Stephen’s 14-6 Saturday.  Prep will enter the game in first place in the IAC at 2-0.  JV Football plays at Georgetown Prep at 4:00pm Monday.  Note that there is a large construction project at Prep.  The temporary football field and adjoined parking are at the front of the campus on your right after you enter the main gate and pass the guard house.
 
Middle School.  Form II Soccer hosts Mater-Dei at 2:45pm Monday and goes to Potomac Thursday for a 2:45pm game.  Form I Soccer is at Mater-Dei Monday at 2:45pm and hosts Potomac Thursday at 2:45pm.  Form A Soccer hosts Mater-Dei at 2:45pm Wednesday.  Blue football hosts Mater-Dei at 2:30pm Wednesday.  White Football’s game against Mater-Dei has been cancelled and a game with another school is being worked out.  Stay tuned for details.  Lower School Cross-Country runs in the IAC Middle School Championships at Bullis Thursday at 4:30pm.
 
Form C, B will continue with street hockey and kickball this week as well as their overall fitness work.
