Join Us for the Opening Cathedral Service

Wednesday, September 7, 8:00 am

August 1, 2022

Dear St. Albans Parents, Students, Faculty, and Staff:

On behalf of St. Albans School, I would like to invite you to the Opening Cathedral Service on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at 8:00 a.m, followed by continental breakfast on Walker Court.

The Opening Cathedral Service centers on welcome and journey. We welcome the new year. We welcome new faces. We welcome stories. We welcome the next phase of our shared life together. And, also, as a school, we proclaim our promise to walk with these young men from Form C to Form VI, during times of joy and sorrow, on messy days, and in uncertain periods.

As in years past, seniors and C Formers will process in together. All students will be seated with their form. Form C and Form VI parents will receive priority for seats in the nave, behind the C Form and the Upper School boys. Additional seating will be available in the side aisles for any parents who wish to join us. For those who are not able to join us in person, the service will be live streamed here. Parking will be available in the Cathedral Parking Garage, entered from Wisconsin Avenue.

Students should be in school dress for the Cathedral service (sports coat and tie). The schedule of activities on Opening Day is as follows:

7:30 a.m.
Form VI students report to front of Cathedral
Form C students report to home room class in the Lower School
7:45 a.m.
Forms V, IV, and III students report to Cathedral
Forms II, I, A, and B students report to home room teacher or advisor
8:00 a.m.
Opening Cathedral Service
8:45 a.m.

We look forward to seeing you for Opening Day!

Please note: Photography or video recording in the Cathedral is prohibited. A professional photographer will take photographs of Form VI and C students prior to the procession.
