A Lemon Terrace Egg Drop

The 39th Annual Egg Drop project was a hit! Students in blue and red cohorts braved cold December days (and a last-minute location change) to see whether the protective case they designed and fabricated—using only paper, straws, and Scotch tape—would safeguard a raw egg dropped from the Lemon Terrace. Upper School Physics Teacher Will Segal ’00 said, “Logistics were, of course, more elaborate than usual this year, but we’re glad to be able to provide students with this much-anticipated experience.” The students, who have shown so much resilience since March 2020, embraced the “egg-cellent” physics challenge with big grins and much laughter behind their masks!
