Celebrating the Lunar New Year

Enjoy the video and photos!

This week, St. Albans Lower Schoolers joined all of NCS in the Cathedral for a special joint service in honor of the Lunar New Year, which was celebrated worldwide beginning on January 25, 2020. The special Cathedral service included traditional Chinese and martial arts dance performances from Fuyao, a student dance group from George Washington University. Students shared readings of ancient stories about the festive celebrations, while Chinese teacher Ms. Weeks offered the homily, sharing some of her fond memories celebrating the Lunar New Year with family and friends. The Cathedral Nave was cleared of all seating for their “Seeing Deeper” series, happening all week, allowing NCS Yoga Instructor Ms. Banks to lead the students in meditative prayer and intentional movement. Enjoy video and photos from the special Cathedral service!
