Form 1 loses close game to Mater Dei 8th grade

Despite not having a warm up resulting from confusion as to the game field, STA Form 1 soccer re-grouped after a flat first half to earn the respect of the Mater Dei 8th grade team.

Clearly the ref contributed to the Mater Dei advantage in the first half awarding two penalty shots which led to one of the Mater Dei goals.  The second half showed a more composed and aggressive STA side, which led to more shots on goal and a goal marked by N. Fergus.  An offside call overturned another goal and a few other near misses left us down 2-1 at the end.

Overall, the coaches are impressed by the team effort and mutual respect among our players and see great potential for the remainder of the season and beyond.
