ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND
From the top of Mount St. Alban, St. Albans School looks up to the Washington National Cathedral and out to the United States Capitol. Our location serves as an embodiment and constant reminder of the School’s motto: Pro Ecclesia et Pro Patria, for Church and Country. The School was established in 1909 by the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation. Our mission is to prepare boys in grades 4 through 12 to develop and use their spiritual, intellectual, artistic, and physical gifts not for themselves alone, but in service of the greater community. As an Episcopal school, we welcome and embrace boys of all faiths and backgrounds to this caring community that learns, prays, plays, sings, and eats together. We are committed to a diversity among students, faculty, and staff that shapes and enriches our shared experiences.

As part of the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation (PECF), St. Albans, the Cathedral, the National Cathedral School, and Beauvoir benefit from strong ties and collaboration.

DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the Property Manager is responsible for all facilities-related work associated with St. Albans-owned houses; coordination with Athletics for capital facilities and equipment maintenance needs; oversight of grounds maintenance as provided by the PECF Grounds Team; and administrative and programmatic support for safety and security initiatives on campus.

  • Facilitate immediate responses in the event of an emergency impacting properties, including notification of appropriate personnel and following safety protocols;
  • Manage parking operations to include issuing and tracking of all parking hang tags, maintaining a database of all current tag holders, and coordinating with the PECF Police on all matters related to parking on the Close;
  • Partner with the PECF Police to manage traffic flow on the Close and represent the School’s interests in presenting considerations and recommending solutions;
  • Administer the door access control system, including obtaining approved schedules and establishing lines of communication to ensure that the door access schedule meets the daily needs of the community;
