Please note this video contains sensitive material involving sexual assault.

Iranian-born poet and educator Rooja Mohassessy joined students and faculty for an intimate exploration of her poetry, which delves into themes of war, migration, and coming of age in exile. Her debut collection of poems, When Your Sky Runs Into Mine, won the 22nd annual Elixir Poetry Award and was inspired by the artwork of her late uncle and renown Iranian artist, Bahman Mohassess. Also painting vivid imagery for readers through verse, Mohassessy recounts her transnational journey across many borders and cultures.
