Digital Rotoscoping

Form A students studied digital rotoscoping, an animation process where artists use layers and trace on top of photographs or film to create “realistic” cartoons, in Mr. Nolan’s art class this semester. In this case, students took their yearbook photo and drew over it to create a cartoon version of themselves. This process was pioneered originally by early animators like Walt Disney and is used in many early cartoons. Enjoy the photos!
