STA Crew Wins the Foley Cup

The St. Albans crew went to the windy and choppy Anacostia River on Sunday, May 2, to race cross town rival Gonzaga. In the Varsity 8 race, STA came back from a length down in the final 600 meters of the race to win by 0.87 seconds. This win brought The Foley Cup back to the Bulldogs for the first time since 2015! The race was not held last year, and Gonzaga had won the previous four years. Said Head Coach Ted Haley: “It was one of the most thrilling races I’d ever witnessed!”
