Spreading Love

Senior Love Project

For Valentine’s Day 2021, Beauvoir, National Cathedral School, and St. Albans partnered to support our elderly neighbors by donating more than 600 Valentine’s Day care packages and cards to We Are Family, a nonprofit organization that provides monthly grocery deliveries to senior citizens. Mark Anderson, a director at We Are Family, wrote: “Our seniors are going to get a kick out of these care packages, especially amidst the darkness of the pandemic. I wish students could be there to see the smiles they will generate.” We are so grateful for everyone on the Close who contributed to the care packages and created handmade cards.

Doorstep Donations

To kick off a month of service in February, student council members Theo Johnson ’23, Jack Kaplan ’23, and Finn McDonald ’23 organized a food drive on the steps of the Little Sanctuary to support families in our area who are struggling with food insecurity. All of the donations went to Shepherd’s Table in Silver Spring, Md.

Located in Washington D.C.,  St. Albans School is a private, all boys day and boarding school. For more than a century, St. Albans has offered a distinctive educational experience for young men in grades 4 through 12. While our students reach exceptional academic goals and exhibit first-rate athletic and artistic achievements, as an Episcopal school we place equal emphasis upon moral and spiritual education.
