Senior Chapel 2020

The Upper School celebrated the seniors in the last chapel of the year. The senior chapel traditionally begins with the students processing into the chapel in silence. This year, the Rev. Hundley recorded the walk for them. Students and faculty created congratulatory signs. History Department Chair John Campbell ’85 offered a chapel talk in which he encouraged the seniors always to expand their definition of brotherhood: “At St. Albans, your definition of brother has expanded to include your classmates. Hopefully, with the foundation you have built here, you will continue to expand your definition of brotherhood to include your brothers and sisters in college. Please look after your college classmates with compassion and care, as I know you can. Take a stand and be there for them. In his ‘band of brothers’ speech, Shakespeare’s Henry V identifies as his brothers the ‘happy few’ who are about to fight with him at Agincourt … Well, that’s a start. But beyond the few, why aren’t the many, indeed all human beings, there to be recognized as brothers?”
