Will Nash ’20 to Represent D.C. at US Senate Youth Program

Will Nash ’20 has been invited by the United States Senate Youth Program to represent D.C.—alongside Congresswoman Eleanor Homes Norton and Duke Ellington senior Sydney Forrester Wilson—at its annual Washington Week, held in March.

The United States Senate Youth Program strives “to increase young Americans’ understanding of the interrelationships of the three branches of government, learn the caliber and responsibilities of federally elected and appointed officials, and emphasize the vital importance of democratic decision making not only for America but for people around the world.”

The Form VI class president, Nash was selected as one of the country’s top student leaders; he will be part of a delegation of 104 students from across the country who will attend meetings and briefings with senators, members of the House of Representatives, Congressional staff, the president, a justice of the Supreme Court, leaders of cabinet agencies, an ambassador to the United States, and senior members of the national media. The delegates also receive $10,000 college scholarships, supported by the Hearst Foundation.
