Cornelius Green Inducted into the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame

STA coach Cornelius Green was inducted into the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame on December 31, 2019. Green, Ohio State University’s first black quarterback, led the Buckeyes to victory against USC in the 1974 Rose Bowl and was named the game’s MVP. Green played in four Rose Bowls from 1973 to 1976, starting as quarterback in three of those bowl games. As a part of the induction festivities, Green participated in the Rose Bowl Parade and a halftime celebration at this year’s bowl game, both of which aired on ESPN. Green’s Hall of Fame class included Eddie Casey (Harvard), Matt Leinart (USC), and Jacque Robinson (University of Washington). Congratulations to Coach Green on this well-deserved honor!
