Blessing of the Animals 2017

Enjoy the photos!

In honor of the Feast of St. Francis, St. Albans held its annual Blessing of the Animals ceremonies this week. Both Lower and Upper School students and teachers brought their pets, which included fish, dogs, and a chicken, to school for a blessing from the chaplains. During the Lower School service, C Formers read poems they wrote for their pets and all animals they loved, and Upper School students read the names of family pets no longer with us. After an asperging, the pets received a treat and went on to socialize with other animals and the boys. Thank you to all the families who participated in the special chapel service. For more than a century, St. Albans has offered a distinctive educational experience for young men in grades 4 through 12. While our students reach exceptional academic goals and exhibit first-rate athletic and artistic achievements, as an Episcopal school we place equal emphasis upon moral and spiritual education.
