Hands-on History for Form II

On February 21, Dr. Noel Schiller’s Form II history class enjoyed a hands-on history lesson exploring World War II artifacts from the National WWII Museum's Operation Footlocker. The museum sent a trunk full of real artifacts (no reproductions!), including gas masks, identification tags, War Department basic field manuals, war ration books with ration tokens, and even vials of sand from Omaha Beach. In the process of handling the items, the boys became detectives developing research questions and methods, as well as learning about museum best practices.
