The annual Festival of Lessons and Carols will be presented in the Cathedral on Friday evening, December 15, at 6:30 PM. The service is open to the public and will last approximately 90 minutes.
The Lessons and Carols service is a special school tradition when choirs, instrumental groups, and dancers from both schools, and all grades, join together to celebrate the holiday season with students, faculty, staff, families and many alumni and alumnae. More than 600 student musicians will offer a wide variety of seasonal music performed from all corners of the Cathedral. Carols will be introduced by traditional scripture lessons read by students, staff, faculty and administrators.
Early Arrival: All guests are encouraged to arrive early. The Cathedral doors will open to the public at 5:30 p.m. Parents and students should check the school calendar for specific call times for performance groups.
Security: Backpacks and oversized bags will not be permitted inside the Cathedral, and anyone entering may be asked to undergo security screening.
Parking: Please avoid parking on neighborhood streets. Everyone driving to Lessons & Carols should park in surface spaces on the Close or, preferably, in the Cathedral garage. The garage will have event parking rates in effect, $10, CASH-ONLY, to be paid upon entrance. After the service, the garage gates will remain open for an easy exit; there is no need to stop at the hourly parking machine to pay.
