  • Schedule family tour and interview

Family tours and interviews are offered on Tuesdays for fourth grade applicants and Wednesdays for fifth grade applicants, from mid-October to early February. Tours begin promptly at 8:15 a.m. and conclude at 10:00 a.m. During these visits, applicants to grade 4 will have the opportunity to learn more about the academic, athletic, and artistic programs St. Albans offers and participate in a group interview with faculty and members of the Admissions Office. Applicants to grade 5 will also receive a tour and will be interviewed individually. Separately, all applicant parents will attend a Q&A session and have a brief tour of the School. • Submit school transcripts and teacher recommendations

By early January, parents should submit a Transcript Request form for academic records from the current year (first and second quarter) and previous school year to their son’s head of school or registrar. Also by early January, parents should submit the two Teacher Recommendation forms to two homeroom teachers who have taught the applicant during the current and past year. Families may send a request for recommendation to teachers through their son’s online account. Families are strongly encouraged to request that teachers use the online tool for submitting recommendation forms, as this ensures accuracy and timeliness of submission. If preferred, teachers may mail or fax a paper recommendation to the Admissions Office. An applicant’s transcript and teacher recommendations must be received by the Admissions Office no later than January 18, 2017. The School Transcript Request form is available on the application forms page
  • Complete admissions testing

For applicants to grades 4 and 5, testing will take place at St. Albans on Saturday, January 20, 2018, from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. (*PLEASE NOTE THIS CHANGE). Written instructions and confirmation of this date will be sent to all applicants in early January. Additional outside testing results, such as the WISC, may be submitted by parents as supplemental information to our admissions test.
  • Decisions mailed

All application files are presented to the Admissions Committee in early February. Decision letters will be mailed on March 3, 2017. An applicant will be advised one of the following: that he is being offered a spot, that he has been placed on a waiting list, or that we are unable to offer him a spot. If an applicant accepts an offer of admission, his parents must return the signed Reservation Contract by March 20, 2017, along with a non-refundable check or money order for $1,000 to secure placement. Applicants receiving financial aid should make a deposit commensurate to their percentage of aid. The School will make every effort to make financial aid awards simultaneously with offers of admission.
