Apply: International Applicants

All applicants for the 2022-2023 school year must establish a personal admissions account through Ravenna, our application vendor. To establish your Ravenna account, please click here. International applicants applying via the SSAT Standard Application Online (SAO) online portal must also create an account with St. Albans here by the November 30 deadline for international applicants. If you have submitted an application via SAO, please notify the St. Albans Admissions Office via email once the application is submitted (sta_admissions@stalbansschool.org).

Please visit Ravenna or the "Apply to STA" pages to view the application steps for each grade level for this year's admissions season.

While we strongly prefer that international and out of state applicants join one of our many regularly scheduled visits, we understand that some applicants may either require special scheduling accommodations or a virtual or phone interview. Before contacting the admissions office to request a tour or virtual or phone interview on a specific date, we require that all out of town and international applicants submit their application to St. Albans by the November 30 deadline for international applicants. Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate special scheduling requests for families who have not yet submitted their son's application.

If an applicant for Form C or B (4th or 5th grade) cannot attend our testing on January 7, 2023, he may be tested at his current school. Parents should provide the Admissions Office with the name and address to whom our testing materials can be mailed.

Out-of-state or international applicants to Forms A-V (grades 6-11) should sit for the SSAT or ISEE no later than early January. If neither the SSAT nor ISEE is available in the applicant's home city, educational consultants may be available to administer the test privately.

Applicants for whom English is not a native language are strongly encouraged to submit a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam along with either ISEE or SSAT scores. Visit www.ets.org/toefl/ for details.
Located in Washington D.C.,  St. Albans School is a private, all boys day and boarding school. For more than a century, St. Albans has offered a distinctive educational experience for young men in grades 4 through 12. While our students reach exceptional academic goals and exhibit first-rate athletic and artistic achievements, as an Episcopal school we place equal emphasis upon moral and spiritual education.
