Live Stream Festival of Lessons & Carols

December 15, 6:30 pm, Washington National Cathedral

The annual Festival of Lessons and Carols will be presented in the Cathedral on Thursday, December 15, at 6:30 pm. More than 600 student musicians will offer a wide variety of carols of the season performed from all corners of the Cathedral. Carols will be introduced by traditional scripture lessons read by students, staff, faculty and administrators. The bishop of Washington, the vicar of the Cathedral, and our school chaplains will lead the prayers. The service is open to the public and will last approximately 90 minutes.

The STA Alumni Office will host a reception, with cookies and cocoa, in the Common Room of the Lane-Johnston Building at 5:00 pm, before heading over to the Cathedral for the event.

Parents and students should check the school calendar for specific call times for their groups. Doors to the Cathedral Nave will open at 5:30 pm.

For those unable to attend, this event can also be streamed online here:

Parking: All those attending the Lessons and Carols service are asked to park in the Cathedral’s parking garage or in designated surface parking spaces, and to avoid parking on neighborhood streets. Please note the Cathedral Garage will have “event-style” parking beginning at 4:30 pm on Thursday evening, which means that parking will be $10 (CASH only) to be paid upon entry to the garage. Please remember to bring cash; credit cards will not be accepted nor can you use the pay machines. The garage’s exit gates will be raised from 7:30 pm until 11:00 pm for easy departure
