Academics

Faculty & Staff

In classrooms and concert halls, in the Little Sanctuary and on the stage, on athletic fields and at social service outings, in the science laboratories and the libraries, teachers are ever present in the life of our students. Our academic program is intended to ensure a continuing exchange between boys and their teachers both in and out of class. The 7:1 student-teacher ratio means that classes are small and teachers are accessible throughout the day for a conversation in the hallway or a private conference in an office. St. Albans teachers bring diverse backgrounds to the school.

St. Albans employs nearly 100 faculty members (teachers and coaches), with nearly 80 percent holding advanced degrees. They have earned undergraduate and advanced degrees from around the world, with the greatest number from American University, Georgetown University, George Washington University, Harvard University, University of Maryland, and Yale University.

Located in Washington D.C.,  St. Albans School is a private, all boys day and boarding school. For more than a century, St. Albans has offered a distinctive educational experience for young men in grades 4 through 12. While our students reach exceptional academic goals and exhibit first-rate athletic and artistic achievements, as an Episcopal school we place equal emphasis upon moral and spiritual education.
