Surprise! Entire Lower School Joins Mr. Herman for Running Club

Enjoy the photos and video!

On Friday, April 29, the entire Lower School, the Herman family, and former faculty and students surprised Mr. Herman with a special Running Club. Mr. Herman has served the Lower School for 44 years. In the 26 years as the Head, we estimate he's spent 832 Fridays with thousands of boys running nearly 150,000 miles. While he was surprised at the sight of his students, colleagues, and family on Steuart Field, Mr. Herman did grow suspicious when no students were outside of the Lower School after dismissal. The Prefects presented Mr. Herman with a customized jersey of his beloved Redskins and everyone joined in congratulating him on his retirement. Many thanks to the parents, faculty, staff, and students who helped pull off this memorable surprise and to the Parents' Association for sponsoring the event. Congratulations, Mr. Herman!
