Please Join Us for the Headmaster's Lecture Series

Wednesday, January 6, at 7 pm

Demetra Lambros will join us on Wednesday, January 6, at 7:00 pm, in Trapier Theater for the Headmaster’s Lecture Series where she will discuss Sexual Assault: The New Legal and Ethical Rules.

Ms. Lambros, the mother of three St. Albans’ boys, is a lawyer who specializes in criminal law—having worked both as a criminal defense lawyer at Washington D.C.’s Williams & Connolly and now on the prosecution side at the Department of Justice. In the 1990s, Ms. Lambros was the general counsel for the Senate Judiciary Committee, under the chairmanship of then-Senator Joe Biden. There she helped craft sweeping anti-crime legislation, gun control measures, as well as the Violence Against Women Act, Mr. Biden’s landmark effort to address domestic violence. More recently she served as counsel to the vice president and played a central role in the White House’s initiative to help combat sexual assault on college campuses. As a criminal appellate lawyer at the Justice Department, Ms. Lambros has handled a wide variety of criminal cases, including high-profile murder, public corruption, drug conspiracy, human trafficking, and gang-related prosecutions. Currently she is defending the murder and manslaughter verdicts against several Blackwater contractors in connection with a deadly shooting in Baghdad, Iraq.

If you plan on attending the lecture, please RSVP by sending an email to rsvp@cathedral.org.
