Assistant Director of Annual Giving
Reporting to the Executive Director of Annual Giving & Alumni Relations, the Assistant Director is responsible for managing Annual Giving operations and helping to sustain and grow the program. Annual Giving, which currently raises $2.3 million a year in unrestricted support, is the first priority of the STRIVE Campaign, a $50 million comprehensive fundraising effort launched in the fall of 2013. The Assistant Director is a primary contact point for donors, and provides high-level of support to a team of dedicated alumni and parent volunteers. Specific duties include training and reporting to volunteers, coordinating communications and marketing, database management, gift processing, and donor stewardship. This person also works with the Executive Director, and other members of the Development team, to execute special projects, events, and other initiatives, as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, with 1-2 years of work experience, preferably in fundraising, and/or relevant fields such as education, sales/marketing, or communications; Commitment to ethical fundraising, collegiality, teamwork, and the philosophy of St. Albans School (click here); Excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Ability to work collaboratively and supportively with colleagues and high-level volunteers; Strong writing skills and ability to craft thoughtful, well-written messages, and provide accurate proof-reading/editing support; Superior organizational skills, with proven ability to juggle multiple priorities under changing circumstances; ability to prioritize work with supervisory input, meet deadlines; and balance the needs of numerous constituencies; High degree of proficiency and comfort with technology, especially MS Word and Excel, digital communication tools, and social media. Openness to learning software applications and/or acquiring new skills quickly and effectively. Candidates with The Raiser's Edge® fundraising software experience (at least 1 year), strongly preferred. Availability and willingness to work occasionally outside the normal schedule including early mornings, evenings, school holidays, and weekends.

Assistant/Associate Director of Individual Giving
St. Albans School of Washington, DC, is currently seeking an Assistant/Associate Director of Individual Giving to join the Development and Alumni Relations team. Publically launched in October 2013, STRIVE: A Campaign for St. Albans seeks to raise $50 million for Annual Giving, renovated athletic fields and new endowment by 2018. Primary Responsibilities: As a front-line major gifts fundraiser, plan and sustain a high level of continuous contact and engagement with a portfolio of 200-250 alumni and parent major gift and leadership Annual Giving prospects with an emphasis on cultivation and solicitation for the STRIVE Campaign; Effectively manage prospect information and track activity through The Raiser’s Edge® fundraising software. Identify meaningful volunteer opportunities for donors and prospects; encourage and track their participation; Strategize and plan appropriate opportunities for the Headmaster, key volunteers, and faculty members to participate in donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree plus 3 – 5 years of experience in development/fundraising and/or significant relevant experience in education or business; Record of donor/client solicitation and closing, preferable; Commitment to ethical fundraising, collegiality, teamwork, and the philosophy of St. Albans School; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written; Ability to work collaboratively and supportively with colleagues and high-level volunteers, including the St. Albans Governing Board and Development Committee members; Strong motivation, initiative and the ability to prioritize; Proficiency with the Windows computer environment including MS Word and Excel. Experience with The Raiser's Edge® or comparable fundraising management software preferable; Availability and willingness to work occasionally outside the normal schedule including early mornings, evenings, school holidays, and weekends; Periodic travel required.

Education Technology Coordinator
St. Albans School of Washington, DC, is seeking an Education Technology Coordinator for its Lower School (grades 4-8) beginning in fall 2015. In providing academic technology support to all Lower School faculty and students, duties include: training and supporting faculty in the use of the school’s learning management system and the school’s Google Apps for Education account; visiting classes and providing educational technology consultations for faculty; organizing professional development opportunities in the effective use of classroom technology and information media; presenting technology updates and tips at faculty meetings; ensuring that Lower School students can access and have basic facility with the school’s learning management system and their GAE accounts; providing lessons for students on the effective use of various types of technology; working with the academic dean to facilitate course selection and scheduling. Other duties may include advising students, working in the school’s study skills program, teaching a section of math, or supervising other afternoon activities. Qualifications: background in a school setting; ability to engage effectively with faculty in all disciplines; deep knowledge and keen interest in technology trends in education; facility with Google Apps, Haiku, iPads, Chromebooks, SMARTBoards, and other technologies is essential; a bachelor’s degree is required, an advanced degree preferred.

Associate Head Librarian
St. Albans School is seeking an Associate Head Librarian beginning Fall 2015. Duties include helping to develop the school’s collections and databases, manage library circulation, advise students on research strategies, oversee the library’s website, supervise the library’s reading room, communicate with students and faculty on new trends in media availability, and promote library as an inviting, creative intellectual environment. Qualifications: MLS or equivalent; background in secondary school or university setting; awareness and interest in library and media science trends; ability to engage effectively with faculty and students across disciplines.

Registrar
St. Albans School of Washington, DC, is seeking a full-time Registrar beginning in summer 2015. Duties include creating and enrolling students in an annual master academic schedule; working closely with the Academic Dean to produce, disseminate, and store academic schedules and records, including transcripts and report cards; liaising with students, alumni, parents, faculty, and staff with regard to academic records and procedures; serving as primary school coordinator for the U.S./DHS Student and Exchange Visitor Information System; working closely with the College Counseling Office in preparing records for the college application process, maintaining the school’s NCAA Eligibility Center records, and administering St. Albans participants in the National Achievement and National Merit Scholarship Programs; assisting students in obtaining MD, VA, and DC work permits and DMV permits; assisting the Director of International Student Travel with fellowship programs; and providing administrative support to the Academic Dean and the Head of Upper School. Qualifications: considerable background in a secondary school setting; experience in the production of student records and scheduling; familiarity with Blackbaud’s Education Edge school administration software is preferred; a bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.

School Nurse
St. Albans School in Washington, DC, is seeking a full-time School Nurse beginning in summer 2015. Duties include collecting, maintaining, reviewing, and filing annual student health records for the approximately 575 students of the school (including thirty boarding students); ministering to daily health (illness/injury) concerns of students, including identifying immediate and/or long-term issues and advising parents, faculty, and health professionals as necessary; developing individualized care plans related to student health issues, such as asthma, allergies, diabetes, seizures, athletic injuries, etc.; liaising with the school’s athletic trainers about student-athlete health concerns; collaborating with the school’s consulting pediatrician and/or consulting psychiatrist as needed; storing and administering authorized medications and treatments to students; preparing first aid bags for field trips; working with dormitory students and faculty, including morning “sick call” visits, arrangements for medical/dental appointments, delegation of evening care, and filing of insurance reimbursement forms; monitoring immunization status to prevent communicable disease; and attending administrative and counseling meetings in both Upper and Lower Schools. Qualifications: a bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field; license as a registered nurse in accordance with the mandates of the District of Columbia Board of Nursing; considerable experience in school, pediatric, or public-health nursing.

Spring Tennis Coach
St. Albans School is seeking enthusiastic, well-rounded individuals to teach tennis during the spring 2015 season, March 2 to May 22. We run our programs Monday through Friday, from 2:00 pm - 6:30 pm. Interested candidates must be self-motivated, love kids, and be responsible role models with the ability to establish effective relationships with peers and the general public; good interpersonal and communications skills necessary; ability to work without supervision is also key. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the field of education, as well as former college students with tennis experience. Employee will take directions from head coaches and St. Albans Tennis Club Director.
