Assistant Director of Annual Giving
Last year, St. Albans Annual Giving (AG) raised $2.4M in operating support from nearly 3,000 donors, exceeding the budgeted goal and setting new records for participation and giving. Thanks to our generous community and numerous volunteers, STA has one of the top-performing independent school fundraising programs in the country. Essential to this, and future, success is the Assistant Director of Annual Giving, who reports to the Executive Director of Annual Giving & Alumni Relations. 

Primary Responsibilities: The Assistant Director is the primary contact point for donors and provides high-level support to a team of dedicated alumni and parent volunteers. Specific duties include managing donor stewardship and solicitation, oversight of all AG operations, training and reporting to volunteers, coordinating communications and marketing, and database management/gift processing. Since Annual Giving is the first priority of the STRIVE Campaign, a $50 million comprehensive fundraising effort launched in fall 2013, the Assistant Director is also plays a key role in the campaign. Working with the Executive Director, and other Development & Alumni Office team members, this person  leads and executes key AG/Alumni Office/STRIVE projects, as needed.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, with 1-2 years of work experience, preferably in fundraising, and/or relevant fields such as education, sales/marketing, or communications; Commitment to ethical fundraising, collegiality, teamwork, and the philosophy of St. Albans School (more here). Excellent interpersonal communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and high-level volunteers. Strong writer, who can craft thoughtful and well-written messages, and accurate proof-reading/editing. Superior organizational skills - proven ability to juggle multiple priorities/constituencies under changing circumstances. Ability to prioritize work with supervisory input, meet deadlines. Highly-proficient with technology, especially MS Word and Excel, digital and social communications. Openness to learning new software and/or acquiring skills quickly, as needed. Candidates with Raiser's Edge® experience (1 year+) preferred. Availability/willingness to work occasionally outside the normal schedule (e.g. early mornings, evenings, weekends). Associate Head Librarian
St. Albans School is seeking an Associate Head Librarian beginning Fall 2015. Duties include helping to develop the school’s collections and databases, manage library circulation, advise students on research strategies, oversee the library’s website, supervise the library’s reading room, communicate with students and faculty on new trends in media availability, and promote library as an inviting, creative intellectual environment. Qualifications: MLS or equivalent; background in secondary school or university setting; awareness and interest in library and media science trends; ability to engage effectively with faculty and students across disciplines. Spring Tennis Coach
St. Albans School is seeking enthusiastic, well-rounded individuals to teach tennis during the spring 2015 season, March 2 to May 22. We run our programs Monday through Friday, from 2:00 pm - 6:30 pm. Interested candidates must be self-motivated, love kids, and be responsible role models with the ability to establish effective relationships with peers and the general public; good interpersonal and communications skills necessary; ability to work without supervision is also key. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the field of education, as well as former college students with tennis experience.
