Registration for Summer 2015 will be available January 1!
St. Albans School has carried on a tradition of academic excellence since 1909 and we are proud to offer a summer school program that reflects St. Albans' high standards of learning. Our summer school faculty is comprised of superb teachers from area schools who loyally return year after year, with a substantial number of them holding advanced degrees in their subject areas. While some students use our summer courses to review past work, others use them to prepare for the future. In either case, they benefit from a diverse selection of courses, small classes, dedicated teachers, first-rate facilities, and a supportive environment. We are proud to announce two significant additions to our 2014 summer school curriculum—Chinese and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. St. Albans will be offering Chinese I, II and III, giving students at all levels the opportunity to learn this important world language. We will also be welcoming an exciting new partner, i2 Camp, to broaden middle schooler’s exposure to STEM with a wide variety of new, innovative courses not seen in traditional middle school education.
Thanks to our excellent staff, professional coaches and loyal partners, St. Albans also continues to create the best summer camp experience in the area! This summer, St. Albans varsity head coaches will offer swimming, football, and rowing camps. Additionally, we will be introducing a new golf camp, which will be offered in two weekly all-day sessions. We are very excited about this new camp and fully expect that it will deliver a fun and worthwhile learning experience to our campers.
As in years past, St. Albans will also partner with Headfirst Camps, which will offer Multi-Sport, Soccer, and Basketball, as well as Imagination Science, and Senior Day Camp programs, for boys and girls ages 4 - 13. Alas, change is inevitable and it is coming to our athletic fields with their complete renovation beginning in the Spring of 2014. The tennis courts, along with the entire Satterlee-Henderson field, will be demolished to make way for our new fields and tennis club. Also missing for 2014 will be our lacrosse partner, Breakout Lacrosse, and its popular camp. We expect these offerings to be back in our new and vastly-improved facilities by the beginning of our 2015 season and appreciate your patience as the renovation takes place. Many thanks for your tremendous support of these camps over the years.
For your convenience, St. Albans offers before and after care, as well as a daily “cool down” in the St. Albans indoor pool for full-day campers. This hour provides the students with free time under the supervision of trained lifeguards. Campers are also provided with water, fruit, and popsicles throughout the day. A “Combo-Camp” discount is available to all campers who select different morning and afternoon camps during the same week. For more details about each camp or class, up-to-date information, or online registration, please visit our web site at www.stalbansschool.org.
Our goal is to make the summer program experience rewarding and fun for everyone. Of course, our staff is available to help answer any questions you may have.
We look forward to a fun and exciting summer!

Combining Academics and Athletics
• Full- and half-day campers take advantage of the wonderful array of offerings by spending part of the day in the classroom and the rest at sports camps; others spend the full day developing diverse athletic skills.
• While some boys and girls enjoy a full day developing diverse athletic skills, others elect to combine both academic and sports. Some choose to do a morning of academics and an afternoon of sports, or the reverse.
• Dedicated coaches and counselors escort younger students between school and camps, joining them for lunch at mid-day.
• Parents appreciate the easy pick-up and drop-off procedures that allow them to send siblings with different interests to the program that best suits each child.
• Before care (starting at 7:30 a.m.) and after care (running until 6:00 p.m.) are available for all students and campers.
