St. Albans School Parking PolicyStudent Parking: St. Albans encourages all students to consider alternatives to driving themselves to School. St. Albans requires all students who do drive to school to register their vehicles with the School and display a sticker. Students must agree to park only below the George Washington statue on Pilgrim Rd. If they cannot find a place on the Close, they must park on the north side of Garfield Street or in unrestricted areas on public streets, unless they display a valid Zone 3 Permit, in which case they may park in those restricted areas. Student contracts will include language that acknowledges acceptance of this parking practice as a condition of driving to school. Neighbors will be advised to contact the Metropolitan Police Department to report parking infractions, and the School to report violations of this policy. Violators of this policy will face progressive penalties.
2009 Close-wide Traffic and Parking Plan.
Faculty and Staff Parking: St. Albans encourages faculty and staff to consider alternatives to driving to School. St. Albans requires all faculty and staff to register their vehicles with the School and display a sticker. Faculty and staff must agree to park on the Close or at the designated off-site facilities including St. Sophia's Church and Temple Micah, where the School has again rented 54 parking spaces for faculty and staff. If they must park off the Close, and space is not available at the off-site facilities, they will park on the north side of Garfield St. or in unrestricted areas on public streets, unless they display a valid Zone 3 Permit, in which case they may park in those restricted areas. Neighbors will be advised to contact the Metropolitan Police Department to report parking infractions. Violators of this policy will face progressive penalties.
Visitor Parking: St. Albans encourages all visitors to consider alternatives to driving to School. Visitors to St. Albans, including those attending athletic events, performances, volunteer meetings, parent meetings, or other school-related activities must attempt first to park on the Close or in the PECF Parking Garage. If there are no places on the Close they should park on the north side of Garfield Street or in unrestricted areas on public streets, unless they display a valid Zone 3 Permit, in which case they may park in those restricted areas.
