Annual Giving Supports Teachers & Learners

Since 1953, Annual Giving has been a vital source of institutional momentum for St. Albans, and the primary way for all alumni, parents, and friends to help sustain the special features that set the School apart. The success of Annual Giving and the spirit of shared experience and mutual encouragement that brings together all generations of Bulldogs are essential to St. Albans' enduring excellence.

Achieving this year's ambitious goal of $2.16 million by June 30, 2013 will require special dedication and generosity from alumni, parents, and friends. Fortunately, our community has always found a way to fulfill the School’s educational mission. Every gift from alumni, parents, and friends, whatever its size, makes a valuable and immediate difference to all who live, work, and study at the School. Please consider making your gift online today (or click here to learn about other ways to make your gift to STA). Thank you for your support.

Annual Giving Makes a Difference Immediately

Gifts to Annual Giving allow St. Albans to provide extraordinary opportunities for learning and discovery; to extend scholarship aid to every student who needs it; and to help meet emerging needs and challenges. These unrestricted funds give St. Albans the flexibility to sustain current initiatives and undertake critical new ones, such as the Teaching & Learning Program, before a permanent endowment for a program is fully in place.

Annual Giving and Financial Sustainability

Annual Giving is a vital part of the School’s finances and its first philanthropic priority. Tuition alone accounts for only 75 percent of the total cost of a St. Albans education. Income from the endowment and Annual Giving make up the difference (or "the gap"), which in 2012-2013 amounts to nearly $10,000 per student. Each year, alumni, parents and friends make unrestricted gifts that cover 10 percent of the operating budget and support all aspects of the School, from teachers and programs to the arts and athletics.
